Profile

Katherine is a Psychophonetics Coach and co-founder, trainer and facilitator at Empathic Intervision. She works with individuals and groups, both privately and in organisations. She completed her PhD on empathy in organisations within and across sectors.. Her special interest is on empathy as a relational skill in personal and professional development, well-being and prevention of compassion fatigue and burnout.

Katherine has a deep understanding and capacity for empathy with people living and working in extreme conditions. This capacity is essential, as both individuals and practitioners require exceptional skills of self-care and well-being; self-management and resilience, empathy and boundaries; to be relevant to others. They need to be able to protect themselves from the vicarious sharing of trauma and stress experienced by so many of the people they serve. With a background in pharmacy practice she is able to work with these aspects of stress and their impact on wellbeing.

Katherine has a clarity and dedication to her work, and with her strong commitment to applying the modality of Psychophonetics, as relevant to the social needs of South Africa.

Katherine works in person in Cape Town, South Africa + online via Zoom.
