Term 1 program: Restoring inner peace

Restoring inner peace

with Judy Greenberg

Inner peace is our true nature yet we often don't feel peaceful. The world around us is certainly reflecting that lack of peace.

During our time together we will explore what is in the way of each of us experiencing inner peace and some different ways of restoring it.

We will be guided by the principles of Rudolf Steiner's seven conditions of spiritual development and focus on both inner peace and peace with others; our contribution to peace in the world. These conditions are also the basis for personal transformation.

Restoring inner peace is an experiential process in which you will learn basic and practical tools for exploring and transforming inner dynamics.

Term 3 program: The art of relationship

The art of relationship

with Hadas Sorenson

Relationship starts when ‘I’ reach out to make contact with another. Once I identify separation between two or more configurations, I can start to communicate with them. We tend to think that relationship has to do with our social life, this is true, but it is also true to say that relationship begins with recognizing that we can experience ourselves as whole once we get to know our duality and our multiple faculties.

In the seven weeks relationship course we will start a conversation between the ‘I’ and the ‘other’ in myself and between me and my companions. We will enhance our observation skills and will explore useful tools of creating enjoyable and productive dialogues.

During these sessions we will explore multi-modal ways of expression, such as: Enactment and movement, visualisation, black and white drawing, pastel drawing, painting, sculpting and creative writing.

Week 1: The art of companioning

Week 2: Relationship with my body (soul & spirit)

Week 7: Relationship with the future me.

Term 4 program: The healing power of sound

The healing power of sound

with Robin Steele PhD

“When all the sounds of human speech resound around a living human body, every aspect of one’s inner experience, from every phase and level of one’s life echoes and vibrates with them, like the strings of a piano with the sound of guitar strings nearby. Our subtle bodies...are like the resonance chamber of the sounds…The sounds are the hidden language of our inner life.” (Tagar, 1995)

Working with body awareness, gesture and visualisation, the sounds can address and enhance the bodily memory of experience and access untapped inner resources.

The capacity of sounds to resonate with specific soul experiences makes them a powerful tool for personal development, as they can echo experiences, such as pain, inner and outer pressures, impositions, abuses, criticism, as well as experiences of protection, release, nurturing and inner strength.

Sound therapy gives us a range of effective tools for exploring our inner life and for creating a space for practicing authentic speaking and expression.

Tuesdays September 14 to October 26, 7.00pm-10.00pm

Week 1: Introduction to the experience of sounds

Week 2: Warming to the elemental groups of sounds

Week 3: Heart Flow meditation - Invoking through visualisation and sound

Week 6: Healing with sounds

Week 7: Creating sound conversations

Reflecting on the journey

Creative arts program: The healing power of creative expression

One day workshops: The healing power of creative expression

“We must always be able to dream a little even by day when we are awake; we must be able to give ourselves up to the enjoyment of art, of poetry, or of some other activity that is not concerned wholly with crass reality. Those who can give themselves up in this way form a connection with something that can enliven and invigorate the whole of existence.”
                                                                                                          --Rudolf Steiner

The art of living creatively incorporates an invigorating and enlivening workshop program that includes:

  • Drawing/clay - with Kate Casey & Anne Holland - Saturday April 10
  • Creative writing/poetry - with Kate Casey & Hadas Sorenson - Sunday June 20
  • Watercolour painting - with Kate Casey & Hadas Sorenson - Sat. August 28
  • Reflecting creatively on the journey - with Robin Steele & others - Sat. Nov. 13

As well as learning about technique and materials, participants will be offered the opportunity to focus on the interior landscape of memories, emotions, unconscious patterns and the heart’s wisdom, engage with a sense of beauty, and connect to their deepest resources of creativity and vitality.

Participants have the opportunity to gain skills and techniques that can be applied in their daily life.

No previous experience with the creative arts is required.
